Drive Ins Permit Social Distancing

In the next 3 weeks, movie theaters will open.

You will be able to social distance because you will be inside a steel pod, isolated from the other steel pods.

No, AMC has not refurbished their cinemas.

It’s the drive-in. While they have diminished to about 500 today from the over 900 in the 1990s (according to the Washington Post), they still present a way to get-out-of-the-house safely in the corona virus era.

New York Governor Cuomo gave his endorsement recently and it appears that with online ticketing and food ordering (brought to your car-door), watching your favorite second run movie will be do-able soon.

Some indoor theater owners are considering creating pop-up drive-ins in their parking lots, just to revive the market.

You might even be able to bring your own beer and sit in the back of your pickup on a warm Spring evening.

Actually sounds pretty good.
