Perdue U. Crowdfunds To Protect Professors From Corona Virus

What does graduation from university mean?

It means you’ve been added to the donor list.

Perdue University, headed by former Republican Governor Mitch Daniels, plans to open its campus in the Fall because, according to his op-ed piece in the Washington Post, the corona virus affects the elderly, not college students.

With an endowment of over $2.5 Billion, the school is out asking the public for money by crowdfunding for masks and face coverings, other personal protective equipment (PPE), sampling and testing kits, new technology tools to trace contacts, and student health and safety kits.

According to the school, “About 43 percent of Purdue staff and 51 percent of tenure track faculty are the age of 50 or older.”

So, it appears that the crowdfunding for the PPE is for the professors.
