Think Tank Finds Crowdfunding Helps Entrepreneurs (Duh!)

The Washington D.C .think tank Brookings Institute issued an analysis of what crowdfunding “reveals about startups in metro America.”

Using Kickstarter as their entrepreneurial model, their (fairly obvious) conclusions include:

  • people use Kickstarter for single and on-going projects;
  • on-going ventures create jobs and support new ideas; t
  • here is a geographic correlation between Kickstarter projects and venture capital investments that trend towards Silicon Valley; and
  • Kickstarter gives people in other metro areas a chance to be #entrepreneurs.
