(Supposed) Multimillionaire Crowdfunds Anti-Health Measure Litigation

The BBC says that (as of 5/21/20) there were over 41,000 relating Covid-19 with over 2,600 new cases that day. However, the death curve is decreasing, likely due to the government’s “lockdown.”

The government’s action has caused severe economic and social pain.

Now, a(n alleged) multimillionaire is crowdfunding to sue the UK government claiming that the lockdown is illegal.

Metro reports that this gentleman, whose net worth is reported to be over £200 million, is crowdfunding his legal expenses of up to a stretch target of £175,000, having taken £133,831 from 4,216 pledgees to date.

Although he is a British citizen, he doesn’t live in England but owns a number of companies that operate in the UK.

One wonders why he would not self-finance the litigation.
