YouTube Closing Crypto Accounts

The cryptocurrency world is abuzz with the news that YouTube is “censoring” cryptocurrency videos.

The platform has stopped such channels as “Ivan on Tech” in mid-live stream as violative of its terms of service as being harmful or featuring dangerous content or the sale of regulated goods.

While some in the nascent industry are calling this a “crypto purge,” others feel it is merely random efforts by various YouTube employees reacting after receiving complaints from the public.

In December 2019, YouTube actually noted that the take down was a mistake and re-posted several crypto channels.

he actual problem is that there have been a number of scammers promising unreal returns that have caught the eye of the platform.

Other sevices, including MailChimp are getting more careful. It closed the account of CryptoPotato last month.
