Fake Crypto Apps Found On Google Play

Researchers found fake apps on the Google App store that allowed the developer to steal your login credentials for the Trezor cryptocurrency.

Once obtained, the thieves could “trick users into transferring cryptocurrency into the attackers’ wallets” according to TechCrunch.

Because it was an app within an app, the app was disguised as a way to procure a Trezor wallet and was downloaded thousands of times, becoming the second most popular search result on Google Play after the real Trezor app.

Danger lurks everywhere.
