Film Crowdfunding Site Picks 2 Pilots For Grants

Seed & Spark, the online film and television crowdfunding platform ran a contest for “creators of color” in September.

If they could reach their crowdfunding goal in a month and attract 500 or more followers, they would be entered into a group eligible for additional grants and a production partnership with a Hollywood talent.

Once eligible, they were given 10 days to post a 30-second video pitch about how the additional grant money and production partnership would be used.

“The suppliers of the grants used their discretion to select the two winners.”

Out of the 50 entrants 27 met their financial goal and 12 pilots qualified for the grant money. Two were picked and received grants of $10,000 and $15,000 each.
