Crowdfunded Abortion Film Claims Theaters Turning Away Crowds

The makers of the crowdfunded film “Gosnell: America’s Biggest Serial Killer” (a movie about the notorious convicted abortion doctor) are claiming that theaters are turning away its audience. Not because it’s a sellout (although the filmmakers claim that’s one of the excuses), but because “they’re told not to go, that it’s propaganda.””

Box office revenue from last weekend at 668 theaters was reportedly $1.2 million, which is respectable for an independent movie of any stripe.

The filmmakers are saying that the “mainstream media” is trying to shut down the movie and that film reviewers are ignoring it.

The movie clearly has a cultural-political viewpoint and has opened at the height of election season. Other politically skewed films, such as those by Dinesh D’Souza and Michael Moore, with polar opposite viewpoints, have garnered decent box office, so there may be more to the claims than meet the eye.
