Irish Pro-Choice Crowdfunding Site Attacked

As of 1983, abortions became constitutionally illegal in Ireland by the Eighth Amendment, although women are allowed to leave the country to obtain one.

Together For Yes is a social movement and #crowdfunding campaign that is seeking to overturn the Eighth Amendment.

Facebook and Google have now pushed the campaign off of their platforms. And on May 9th, its own crowdfunding website was hit by a distributed denial of service (#DDoS) attack from inside the country.

“The attack took place at 5.45pm, which would ordinarily have been a peak time for donations, and the website shut down for 30 minutes.”

The referendum takes place in Ireland on May 25, 2018.
