Crowdfunding Math

Crowdfunding math: How many backers do you need to hit 30% of your crowdfunding target in the first 48 hours (which is a leading indicator that you will ultimately hit the target by the end of the period)?

One guy has figured it out. With an average 5% conversion rate (readers to donors), you may need up to 6,000 potential subscribers on your initial email list.

But remember, direct mail has a 2-3% conversion rate, so this is pretty good.

You can also do some math to figure out your best marketing channel to increase momentum towards the end of the campaign.
