Crowdfunding Is Really “Crowd Marketing”

Cheryl Clements, Chief Executive Officer of the web platform Pieshell, notes that crowdfunding is really a two way street and the best crowdfunders are also “crowd marketers.”

This is due to the fact that the crowdfunding process allows an entrepreneur to get her story out to the public and to prove that it can draw a customer crowd.

Private financing is fine, but it doesn’t expand the market for your product.

So, she tells wantreprenteurs that they have to do the pre-marketing to let the public know about their great products before they start asking for funding.
