Crowdfunders Say Men Not Welcome

Although you can donate, if you’re a (cis) male, you’re not welcome to the Man Free (actually named the “Statement”) Music Festival in Sweden.

Started by a Swedish female comedian after reports of sexual abuse at other festivals, the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign has raised its 500,000 kronor (US$65,134) goal from 3,219 backers, offering rewards such as bracelets and comedy classes.

(For you ignorant guys, a “cis male” is someone born a man).

The organizers said some men would be allowed in  if they are  “trans men and [those who identify as] non-binary ….”
