TX Sen. Hall Only Vote Against Rape Kit Crowdfunding

Only one Texas Senator, Bob Hall, voted against the bill that would permit Texas to crowdfund to help pay for processing the backlog of 3,200 rape kits in that State.

His reason?  “Rape kit testing is far too important to rely on an undependable funding source like crowdfunding. ”

And yet the legislature did not pass additional state funding to cover the costs, although Sen. Hall would support moving funds from an unnecessary program like the Enterprise Fund, Major Events Fund or the Music/Film Fund to fully fund rape kit testing.

That hasn’t been proposed either.
