Crowdfunding Medical Bills Won’t Cover All Costs

Obama Care was supposed to help average Americans pay for their healthcare. But, as costs continue to climb, many are turning to crowdfunding to pay huge catastrophic hospital bills.

However, a recent survey found that only about 11% of those campaigns were fully successful. Among the portals surveyed, 41% of all campaigns were for medical bills as 26% of Americans surveyed have financial problems related to health care costs.

The site suggests that talking to the hospital finance department both before and after the procedure can keep your unpaid bills from going to a collection agency and hurting your credit score.
