Crowdfunding Sparks NYC Stage Show

Crowdfunding has been immeasurably helpful to struggling artists to help fund their shows. But in an unusual twist, a medical crowdfunding campaign has turned into a New York City one-person award winning stage show.

Per Broadwayworld-dot-com: “Former homeless youth and transgender woman’s crowdfunding campaign (Please Give Me Your Money So I Can Buy a Vagina!)… is the winner of Two Wilde Awards for Theatrical Excellence. It is being performed as part of the United Solo Festival on theater Row, at the Studio Theater. ” The show is based on “actual events.”
