Restaurant Crowdfunding To Monetize Excess Capacity

Social cause + crowdfunding makes the world a better place?

Here’s an idea, raise some money and stop food waste. That’s what a United Kingdom restauranteur is doing to finance a free app that acts as a direct link between restaurant with surplus food and customers who can place orders to collect it at a reduced price usually half an hour before closing time.

While many restaurants donate unused food to homeless shelters, this firm is monetizing its excess capacity to those looking for a gourmet bargain.
