Crowdfunding Scientist Grows Food In Martian-Like Soil

Would Matt Damon really eat Martian potatoes?

Based on crowdfunded research from Dutch Wageningen University and Research Center, vegetables will grow in faux Martian soil even though it contains high levels of arsenic, lead and cadmium. The fertilizer will contain human feces.

The question is whether those heavy metals have leached into the food making it unsafe for human consumption. Who will take the first bite?
