Hey Buddy, Want to Invest in a Zika Cure?

Psst! There’s a company that’s got a Zika vaccine coming. Better invest now!

The Securities and Exchange Commission has posted a new Investor Advisory about stock scams dealing with the Zika virus.

The Office of Investor Education and Advocacy says it has become aware of an increased stock promotion of companies that claim to be developing products or services relating to the Zika virus.

Warning signs:

  • unregistered investment promoters,
  • promises of high return with no risk and
  • unsolicited offers through social media.
