Self Experimenting Doctors Turn to Crowdfunding

Some doctors/researchers are risking their lives to experiment on themselves then plan to use crowdfunding to further their research.

The Wall Street Journal reports that “a number of scientists who have experimented on themselves with new or yet-to-be approved medical products or technologies…”

One such scientist is Alex Zhavoronkov,EEO of InSilico Medicine Inc., an anti-aging company, who wants to use crowdfunding to finance a peer-reviewed medical journal on self-experimentation.

Self experimentation doesn’t rise to the level of random clinical studies but can kickstart (no pun intended) such efforts.
