Hollywood Studios Sue Crowdfunded Fan Film

Hollywood movie studios Paramount Pictures and CBS have filed suit against a crowdfunded fan film of Star Trek claiming copyright infringement.

While the producers of the film claim that they have an exception under copyright law where they won’t make money from the production, the big boys are asking for “an injunction along with damages for direct, contributory and vicarious copyright infringement.”

The message from the studios is you can love us, but not too much.
