Obama Nominates 2 Women To SEC

President Barack Obama on Tuesday selected Democrat Lisa Fairfax and Republican Hester Peirce to serve on the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ms. Fairfax would replace Luis Aguilar, whose term expired, and Ms. Peirce would replace Daniel Gallagher who left the SEC this month.

If confirmed, that would put 4 women on the 5 member Commission, including incumbent Kara Stein and Chairman Mary Jo White, a first.

The hope is that the bickering will stop and crowdfunding regulations will finally be approved.
