Crowdfunding Humanity

Winner (in my book) of best crowdfunding for humanity prize goes to Robokiller, a moblie app that uses audio fingerprint technology to block robocalls and forward them to a crowd-sourced honeypot.

It won the $25,000 first place prize in the Federal Trade Commission’s “Humanity Strikes Back” contest to develop technology capable of blocking robocalls.

The FTC said: “RoboKiller gives consumers greater control over how and when they receive calls by sending robocalls to a SpamBox that consumers can access at any time, utilizes consumer-controlled white and black list filtering, and provides personalized setting options.”
