GE Votes “Yes” For Crowdfunding

GE Ventures has entered into a partnership with an Israeli equity crowdfunding platform to co-invest with the platform in select early stage companies.

GE Ventures began in May 2013 with a $150 million purse to invest in energy, healthcare, software, and advanced manufacturing companies.  The partnership with OurCrowd gives GEV increased access to early innovation.

VentureBeat reports that “OurCrowd is an equity crowdfunding platform exclusively for accredited investors, who need to invest at least $10,000 per deal. It has raised over $24 million for its 28 portfolio companies since its Oct. 2012 launch.”

Another sign of the maturation of the crowdfunding marketplace.
