Obama Picks 2 New Commissioners for SEC

President Obama has made 2 appointments to the SEC: Kara Stein, a top aide to Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), to replace retiring Commissioner Elisse Walter, and Michael Piwowar, the chief Republican economist on the Senate Banking Committee, to replace Commissioner Troy Paredes. Both appear to have early bi-partisan support. With their confirmation, the majority of the Commission will have been replaced in the past 2 months. They would join new SEC Chairman Mary Jo White in finalizing the Dodd Frank and JOBS Act rules, including the Crowd Fund Act.
