SEC’s Trip to the Woodshed (Again)

Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 2 pm, the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing titled “Examining the SEC’s Failure to Implement the JOBS Act and its Impact on Economic Growth.” This hearing will examine the failure of the SEC to meet the statutorily required deadline for implementing Title II and other provisions (Title III – crowdfunding, perhaps?) of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (JOBS Act). The sole witness for this hearing will be SEC Commissioner Elisse Walter. It’s unclear why Ms. Walter is testifying, as the rumor mill has her leaving the SEC shortly now that Mary Jo White has replaced her as Chairman.
