Studio Cops to Kickstarter Campaign

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara apparently acknowledged that it was the studio, not an independent producer, who orchestrated the Kickstarter campaign for the Veronica Mars movie. The CEO’s strategy is to  balance the maintenance of profits from traditional sources while experimenting aggressively in order to prepare for a radically different digital future. In this case the studio has circumvented the theaters (again) by going directly to the consumer with a (promised) product.
